THE UK’s first scheduled medical airline is being launched to two leading Spanish resorts on April 15.
Called CliniCAIR, it will operate a weekly service from Bournemouth to Alicante and Palma, with the return flight to Stansted and Bournemouth, using a BAC1-11 leased from European Aviation.
Services to Tenerife and Malaga are planned, but could be changed to meet demand. Once the business is under way, the airline also hopes to fly clients back to Manchester and Glasgow.
Director James Nugent said all insurance companies will be able to use the airline, estimated to cut medical costs by 20% as the time clients stay in hospitals overseas is reduced.
