USAirways in Gatwick move

USAIRWAYS is to launch daily Gatwick-Charlotte flights on June 13.

The start of services comes after a year-long fight by the carrier to secure economically viable slots. Flights will leave London at 11.15am and arrive in Charlotte at 3.20pm and are timed to connect onto US Airways’ domestic network.

Last week, the airline asked the US Department of Transportation for rights to serve Pittsburgh from London. However, a UK-US bilateral agreement will have to be drawn up before the service could start.
