TAILOR-made specialist Key to America says the current wave of cheap transatlantic air fares has resulted in big reductions in the final cost of holiday bookings – especially to Eastern Seaboard cities.
The operator says that due to the competition on US flights, it has been making cuts of ú88 on holiday arrangements to New York and Boston, ú77 to Washington DC and ú50 off Florida bookings.
Managing director Roy Collett said: “We are not in the business of making tactical offers.
“Our policy is to apply the lowest air fares at the time of booking and give a reduction on the brochure price.
“Fares published in broch- ures now only act as a guide to what you can expect to pay.”
He said he expected further discounts to apply after this week to nearly all the operator’s destinations.
Collett added: “We have created an image as a quality, tailor-made niche operator catering for middle to upmarket clientele, and can give agents the confidence to deliver one inclusive bottom-line price to customers.”
For 1999, Key to America has combined its US and Canada programmes into one brochure.
