UNITEDAirlines is fitting a new first-class cabin into its long-haul fleet this summer to make it more competitive with American Airlines and British Airways.
The cabin will boast seats that convert into beds, office-style work spaces, improved personal video selections and enhanced dining choices.
The new First Suite cabins will be installed on 20 of United’s Boeing 777 and B747-400 aircraft by the end of the year. B777s will have 12 of the seats and the B747s 14.
BA has had sleeper-style seats for three years, but partners American and Qantas have only recently put the product into cabins.
