n imaginative tours



Adventure tour specialist The Imaginative Traveller has added 19 tours to its latest Africa programme with a target growth of 50%. New to the programme are six itineraries in the operator’s budget adventure category. They include the 15-day Tanzania safari with game drives in Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Prices start at £780. It also has eight in the traveller category, three of which are train tours. The Good Hope takes in just South Africa, The Southern Cross covers South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Zambia, while the The Dune Express starts in Namibia and finishes in Cape Town.



n club med’s april buy



Club Med is expected to complete the acquisition of the Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado in April. Theall-inclusive operator will then renovate the ski village – its second in the US city – in time for the 2000/01 season. It will also open its sixth Turkish village in May.



n dubai shopping deal



DNATA Travel is offering packages to Dubai Shopping Festival which runs throughout March. Prices for three nights at the Royalton Plaza starts at £345 per person including flights.



n wine booking offer



Agents will receive six bottles of wine from The Gambia Experience for the first 10 passengers booked for summer 2000 during February and March. Marlborough-based Robin’s World Travel were the first to qualify.



n M&S voucher offer



Asia specialist World Dreams is awarding agents a £5 Marks and Spencer voucher for all holidays sold with a value of more than £500 per person. Sales of £1,000 or more will earn the agent £10.



n city breaks boost



Canada specialist Globespan has launched its city-breaks product on viewdata. Sales development manager Lynda Stevenson said it follows increasing demand for the short breaks caused by competitive transatlantic air fares and sterling’s strength against the Canadian dollar.
