ADVENTURE travel specialist The Imaginative Traveller has launched a new programme to India and China which also covers Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Japan.
The brochure includes a range of budget tours in India and Nepal to narrow the gap between the backpackers’ product and upmarket tours.
Marketing director Rene Brennecke said:”The budget-class tours have been introduced for those who want the security of travelling in a small group but who want to keep costs low.”
Prices for a 21-night Road to Kathmandu budget-class tour starts at ú665, which includes 19 nights in budget hotels, one night in a dormitory-style simple lodge and one on a sleeper train. Flights from the UK are extra.
For second or third-time visitors to India and Nepal, the operator has introduced off-the-beaten track tours which use mostly two or three-star hotels with private facilities.
With the launch of the new brochure, the operator has expanded its coverage of Nepal, increasing its number of tours from two to eight.
“Nepal has become a mainstream destination for a growing market of serious walkers and trekkers,” said Brennecke. Included among the new tours are a 23-day Classic Circuit and a budget-class Everest Teahouse Trek. New trips in China range from a seven-night China Highlights tour to a 19-day exploration of the Middle Kingdom.
