RADISSON Hotels Worldwide has signed a joint venture which will lead to the expansion of the five-star chain in China.

It has joined with China International Industry and Commerce Co to open a 519-room hotel this summer in Beijing.

Called the Radisson Plaza State Guest Hotel Beijing, the property will be located on the west side of Tiananmen Square near to the historic Diao Yu Tai State Guest House.

It will form part of a mix-use retail, office and hotel complex close to the city’s financial district.

Meeting facilities will include a ballroom accommodating up to 600 people for banquets.

Eric Danziger, president of Radisson’s parent Carlson Hotels Worldwide, said: “The hotel will serve as the platform to build many more new Radisson hotels and resorts throughout China in the next decade through our joint co-operation.”

The hotel will be Radisson’s third in China.
