British Mediterranean Airways has been awarded route licences to serve Aleppo in Syria and the Yemeni capital Sana’a. The British Airways franchise carrier to the Middle East and former Russian states can serve the destinations from either Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted.

Edinburgh will receive additional mainland European flights this summer. Austria’s Tyrolean Airways is introducing a thrice-weekly service to Vienna while Air France willserve the Scottish capital three times a day instead of daily. Air France is also introducing a thrice-daily Glasgow-Paris flight.
