Orient Express Hotels is offering a French Wine Connection Package from April 1 to November 15 at its property Hotel de laCite in Carcassonne. The package includes three nights in a junior suite, tuition from wine expert Georges Gracia, buffet breakfasts, lunches in country restaurants and a gala dinner, and costs around ú717 per person including tax and service.

Rooms at Travel Inn’s London County HallTravel Inn Capital, Newcastle City Centre, and all four Travel Inns in Edinburgh, were fully booked for December 31 1999 within 5mins of reservations being made available. The budget chain is charging a ú15 supplement per room per night for theMillennium and January 1 2000.

The SPHCGroup is opening a 165-room hotel at Dawes Point, Sydney, in July. The opening of the Pier One Parkroyal Sydney Harbour follows a $40m redevelopment of Pier One.
