Booking failure is nice little earner


A ludicrous situation occurred today and seems to be indicative of our industry.



A customer enquired about booking two one-bedroom apartments with Aspro for four people. He wished to make up two separate bookings so a colleague and I both checked the holiday simultaneously. Both screens showed availability and we went about the bookings.



My booking was confirmed but the system disconnected my colleague. She retried the holiday only to find the room had disappeared.



I later discovered there had in fact only been one room available.



Airtours insisted on charging a £15 administration fee to cancel the room which I had booked. Not a bad return in five minutes but very unfair!
