n USAirways sets up uk division base


USAirways has established its new international human resources division in London. Jonathan Markus, the manager of human resources, will be transferring from the USto London to head the section. The airline has also appointed Jo Noblett and Caroline Littlejohn to lead its sales and marketing activities in northwest England. The additional appointments precede USAirways’ new Manchester-Philadelphia service, starting on May 26.


n BAAsigns JFk retail management deal


BAA has signed aneight-year retail contract to manage and develop Terminal Seven at New York’s JFK. The airport is currently undergoing a $200m refurbishment from its main user, British Airways. BAA and the airline are planning to develop a total of 20 retail units, in addition to a recently opened duty-free shop. The renovation is scheduled to be complete next year.


n scotairways seeks to boost london route


ScotAirways is planning to increase services to London following the first year of services on its Dundee-London CityAirport route. Over theyear, the airlinecarried some 41,203 passengers on the business flight. ScotAirways is also considering new short-haul routes to Europe.
