Manos looks to future after Brighton move

Panorama and Manos are offering booking incentives and new resorts in their summer 2001 brochures. Lisa James reports

MANOS Holidays has completed its relocation to Brighton where it is sharing offices with sister company Panorama.

Seventeen of the 40 staff employed at Manos’ City of London head office have made the move to the south coast. The rest have left the company, although Panorama sales and marketing director Martin Young said all had been offered jobs at Brighton.

Manos, a Greece and Turkey specialist, was acquired by Airtours in February for approximately £8m (Travel Weekly February 14).

Young said Manos will continue to be run as a separate brand. “The Panorama product ranges from Malta westwards, while Manos is big in Greece and Turkey so the two products complement each other well. Bringing the two programmes together makes a lot of sense. The two companies have similar philosophies. Both are proud of their specialities.

“All the commercial heads of department at Manos have been retained. We would have been happy to bring everyone down to Brighton but some did not want to relocate,” he added.

Manos head of sales Savo Pejovic said: “There is no point having two separate ticketing departments, sales departments and brochure production departments.

“Nothing has changed following our move, except the Manos product will improve.”

One example is the ability to offer pre-bookable seats for summer 2001 product.

Manos’ City of London office will not close completely until after summer 2000. Two members of staff have been retained to handle summer 2000 bookings.
