Delta Air Lines is to start serving Salt Lake City from Heathrow as part of an expanded summer transatlantic network.
Daily flights are introduced on May 14 as the carrier adds 143% more seats between the US and Europe over last summer to give up to 74 daily departures.
A total of 19 US cities will be served in conjunction with the US carrier’s partnerships with Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic from almost 200 locations throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India.
A new link between New York JFK and Stockholm is also being added from June 1.
The airline has already added flights from major European cities with more frequencies, returning routes and upgraded aircraft in the wake of the pandemic.
Up to 27 flights a day will operate from JFK to 20 points in Europe, including restarting pre-Covid services to Edinburgh, Zurich, Brussels, Copenhagen and Prague.
Boston will be connected with daily flights to nine transatlantic destinations, offering nearly 5,000 more seats each week compared with pre-pandemic summer 2019.
Up to 17 daily flights will serve Atlanta from 14 transatlantic destinations, including an increased three-times-daily service to Amsterdam as well as twice a day to London and Rome.
US Midwest hubs in Detroit and Minneapolis will have up to 14 daily flights from hubs in Amsterdam, London and Paris as well as daily connections to Frankfurt, Munich and Reykjavík.
Seattle will be served twice-daily from Amsterdam and daily from London and Paris.
Besides the London link, Salt Lake City will also have daily flights from Amsterdam and Paris.
A daily Portland-Amsterdam service will also return.
Network planning senior vice president Joe Esposito said: “Delta has been focused on building back our network to give customers easy, convenient access to wherever they want to go, and we’re delivering on that promise with up to 74 daily flights to 21 European destinations from 10 US gateways this summer.
“We have also accelerated improvements to our aircraft so that customers can enjoy a more comfortable journey, including offering more seats than ever before in Delta Premium Select, which will be available on nearly every flight to Europe in the months ahead.”
