Norwegian Air chief executive Geir Karlsen is to hand over the financial reins of the budget carrier.
Hans-Jorgen Wibstad has been named as chief financial officer and is due to take up the position no later than June 1, 2022.
Wibstad will replace Karlsen, who serves as both CFO and chief executive, the airline said.
He has more than 20 years’ experience from various CFO and management roles within industry, shipbuilding, shipping and offshore.
Wibstad also has experience from financial markets, including having worked as a senior corporate banker for several years.
Karlsen said: “I look forward to welcoming Hans-Jorgen Wibstad to our management team.
“His strategic mindset and extensive experience in finance and management will be highly appreciated, and I am confident he has the right background and experience for Norwegian going forward.”
