Pegasus Airlines is gearing up to operate its biggest flight schedule yet from Stansted this summer.
The budget Turkish carrier is offering 55 direct flights per week to five destinations across the country: Istanbul, Antalya, Dalaman, Ankara and Izmir.
Since launching from Stansted in 2007 with a single scheduled flight to Istanbul, the airline has now carried six million passengers on routes from the Essex airport.
Barbaros Kubatoğlu (left), chief financial officer at Pegasus Airlines, said: “That more than six million passengers have flown with Pegasus Airlines from London Stansted since 2007 is a special milestone in our history.”
Gareth Powell (right), Stansted’s managing director, said: “We are delighted that Pegasus Airlines has expanded its summer schedule from London Stansted to its largest ever.
“By increasing capacity and frequency on existing routes, passengers will have more choice and flexibility without having to travel to other airports.”
