Ryanair is adding nine routes from Birmingham airport and two from Manchester this winter following planned expansion from Liverpool.
The no-frills carrier is starting flights from Birmingham to Agadir, Berlin, Derry, Łodz, Marrakesh, Paphos, Paris, Plovdiv and Treviso as well as adding capacity on eight other routes.
The expanded winter schedule covers a network of 39 routes covered by seven aircraft based at Birmingham.

Manchester sees winter flights added to Memmingen and Tangier to give a total of 65 routes. Capacity is also being raised on 36 services including to Alicante, Barcelona, Budapest, Malaga, Malta and Milan.
Ryanair’s winter schedule will operate mostly on 17 Manchester-based aircraft – seven of which are new Boeing 737 Max aircraft.
The growth plans follow the addition of three winter routes from Liverpool airport.
Ryanair also reiterated long-term calls for the government to abolish Air Passenger Duty for all travel.
A spokesperson said: “As an island economy on the periphery of Europe, it is vital that Ryanair continues to grow low-cost air access to/from the UK, particularly for the regions where tourism growth is suffering the most from the government’s APD.
“This tax unfairly imposes £13 on all UK citizens/visitors, making air travel to/from the UK less competitive, particularly when other EU states, like Sweden, Poland, Croatia, and Italy, are lowering costs and cutting taxes to encourage rapid growth.”
