Tui Florida flights return after Hurricane Ian

Tui resumed flights to Orlando on Saturday after three days of cancellations as Hurricane Ian struck Florida.

Services have been rescheduled but some passengers may not be able to check-in online, the operator cautioned.

In an operational update issued on Friday afternoon, Tui said: “We are aware that Melbourne-Orlando airport has now re-opened following Hurricane Ian.

“Due to effects of the storm, we won’t be able to operate any Tui flights into Melbourne-Orlando airport until Saturday 1st October.

“Flights due to depart on 28th, 29th and 30th September have now been rescheduled and all customers have been notified of their new departure date and time.

“Customers who booked via third party booking agents should check directly with the agent if they have not yet received information about their new flight time.”

The operator added: “Due to the change in our flying schedule, some customers may not be able to check-in online.

“We’d like to reassure customers that they’re able to check-in as normal at the airport both in the UK and in Melbourne.”

Tui customers flying with third party airlines were advised to check with their carrier for any flight updates.

The company said that resort teams were on hand to provide support for holidaymakers already in Florida with a 24-hour phone line available.

“Customers due to travel to Florida in the coming days should contact our pre-travel team on 0203 451 2688 if they have any questions,” Tui added.

Meanwhile, cruise ships were cleared for a return of operations at Port Canaveral from October 1.
