UK bookings open for Etihad Airways’ Airbus A350

Etihad Airways has announced its new Airbus A350 aircraft is available to book on the London Heathrow-Abu Dhabi route for flights from October 30.

The addition of the aircraft, which made its inaugural commercial flight in April, is part of the airline’s ‘Sustainable50’ programme to drive operational efficiencies and reduce the impact of aviation on the environment.

Named Sustainability50, the aircraft offers “highly efficient fuel consumption” and has a livery which recognises the 50th anniversary of the federation of the UAE and Etihad’s commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

It boasts “upgraded” soft furnishings including a 35% larger pillow and a soft blanket made from recycled plastic for additional comfort on flights, said the airline.

Etihad’s new dining experience features reusable tableware made from recycled plastic to eliminate the use of single-use materials, and the airline has also introduced stainless-steel cutlery into the Economy cabin.

Jeremy Pollock, UK & Ireland country manager at Etihad Airways, said: “We are very excited to introduce the Airbus A350 to our UK guests.

“With highly efficient fuel consumption and CO2 savings, our passengers will have an enhanced travel experience knowing they are making a positive travel choice.

“We are looking forward to showing off our new cabins, award-winning seats and customer service, and to welcoming our first guests on board in November.”

Return economy fares from Heathrow to Abu Dhabi start from £418, with return business fares starting from £1,810. More information can be found on Etihad’s website.
