Queen Victoria to accommodate Barbados Covid passengers

Cunard ship Queen Victoria is accommodating cruise passengers who test positive for Covid-19 in Barbados, as they are not allowed to self-isolate in hotels on the island.

A statement from the cruise line said the ship is at the Caribbean destination, rather than wintering in the English Channel, ahead of its scheduled return to service on April 22.

“Whilst there she will also be able to manage guests who have tested positive for Covid-19 and close contacts and make their stay in isolation as comfortable as possible,” said the statement.

“Barbados currently does not permit guests who have tested positive from cruise ships to stay on the island.

“By using Queen Victoria, we can ensure any guests will have a comfortable stay, despite the challenging circumstances and have the appropriate support on hand to assist with any issues as well as support any onward journeys home.

“Queen Victoria is able to accommodate a limited number of people who may test positive from Carnival Corporation ships in the area.”
