Barrhead Travel has recruited Sharon Watson to fill a newly created head of product role as the agency pursues its growth plans.
Watson (pictured), who has more than three decades of industry experience, will oversee all types of product – including cruise, package and worldwide – as part of a new streamlined approach.
The existing product teams, which previously reported into business development heads, will combine to create one product team, while business development teams will work solely on partner relationships and engagement.

Barrhead product and commercial director Caroline Donaldson said: “We’re really pleased to have Sharon onboard with us. Her impressive experience across a range of travel roles is set to perfectly complement our talented teams and align our overall product strategy.”
Watson, who has held senior positions at Planet Cruise, spent some of her early career at Barrhead.
