Classic Collection to take agents on virtual safari

Classic Collection Holidays is taking travel agents on a virtual safari to help them learn about the operator’s range.

Agents will be guided through scenes of Kruger National Park in South Africa and Kenya’s Maasai Mara on Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Sessions, hosted via Facebook, will include a guided game drive with a ranger and the chance to spot lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants and rhinos – followed by a live Q&A.

Jordan Torrilla, product and purchasing manager for Africa and Asia, said: “As South Africa moves from summer to autumn agents will get to see the vegetation of the Kruger Park at its greenest with  rivers in full flow and  wildlife at its healthiest.

“Migratory bird species should still be around, and there’s a chance that big cats will be enjoying the slightly cooler autumn temperatures out of the shade. It’s also the time of year when spotted hyena are rearing their young.  Kenya is approaching the long rains, but the game viewing should still be good. As with all safaris we can’t guarantee what we’ll spot, but agents will get the chance to experience some of the excitement and anticipation that a safari delivers.”

Si Morris-Green, director of sales and marketing, added: “We’re thrilled to be able to take our agent partners on safari at a time when many of their customers are planning to return to travel. It’s great for agents to pick up first-hand knowledge of these high value holidays via the authentic experience of a game drive, in real time, from two of the world’s most famous game reserves.”

The virtual safaris are being broadcast via Classic Collection Holidays’ Facebook Live from South Africa on Wednesday March 17 at 2:30pm and from Kenya on Thursday March 18 at 2pm.
