Emerald Cruises’ first ocean cruise ship Emerald Azzurra was officially named at a ceremony in Venice on Saturday (May 28).
Scenic Group founder and chairman Glen Moroney, his wife and director of project design Karen, as well as invited guests, were in attendance. The ship’s godmother Sarah Wikevand, joint managing director at Reader Offers Ltd (ROL) was unable to attend the ceremony.
The 100-passenger vessel will now set sail on a series of eight- to 25-night itineraries around the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas.

Emerald Azzurra will be joined by sister ship Emerald Sakara in 2023, with itineraries to the Seychelles in addition to the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas on sale now.
Emerald Cruises is offering savings of up to 35% and free premium drinks package on bookings made for the Gems of the Arabian Peninsula itinerary departing December 2022 and 2023.
The nine-day ocean cruise sails from Doha to Sir Baniyas Island, Abu Dhabi, Khasab, Fujairah, Zighy Bay and Dubai. Prices starts from £3,827.
