Holiday giant Tui has organised a fleet of coaches to transport supplies to areas in southeastern Turkey that were hit by devastating earthquakes earlier this week.
The coaches will also help to evacuate residents from the areas affected by the disaster, which has so far claimed more than 21,000 lives in Turkey and Syria.
Furthermore, the 468-room Pegasos Resort in Incekum, Antalya, will be opened as a guest home for earthquake victims, said Tui, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A spokesperson for the holiday company said: “All support is being managed in collaboration with the local authorities and relevant aid organisations.”
News about the coaches and hotel followed the launch of an appeal by Tui’s charitable arm, the Tui Foundation.
Tui sends thousands of customers to Turkey every year, and its charitable foundation was set up to support the communities in which it operates.
