Great Rail Journeys releases six new tours for 2026

Great Rail Journeys has unveiled six new tours for 2026, with itineraries in India, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia and New Zealand.

The York-based specialist said it has seen “strong demand” for long-haul travel so far in 2025, with bookings for India up by 30%, Asia up by 54% and Australasia up by 78%.

Great Rail Journeys also has an early booking discount, saving up to £500 per person on 2026 tours when booked by April 30.

Exclusive India’s Golden Triangle & Oberoi Hotels is a small-group tour of the Golden Triangle and Himalayas, with selection of Oberoi hotels.

As well as key cultural sites, such as the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, clients can explore the Himalayas by private train.

The 14-day tour costs from £5,999 including flights.

Other new India tours are the 16-day Spirit of the Himalayas & Amritsar’s Golden Temple tour, from £3,299, and Treasures of Rajasthan & Mumbai, from £3,199 for 13 days.

The 18-day Grand Tour of Southeast Asia (pictured), from £4,799, visits Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. It includes a ride along the Reunification Express to Hoi An.

The 23-day Highlights of Australia & New Zealand costs from £8,499 and includes Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand’s TranzAlpine train in the country’s Southern Alps.
