The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has confirmed the failure of Greenland specialist operator Tangent Expeditions.
It is the second Atol holder to cease trading today, after the CAA’s deadline for Atol renewals passed, joining online travel agency News Travel.
Tangent Expeditions offered Polar journeys, ice cap crossings and tours on snowmobiles and boats.
The Northumberland-based company held an Atol licence until March 31, 2021. Bookings and payments made after April 30, 2021, are not Atol-protected.
It traded under websites tangent-expeditions.co.uk,greenlandexpeditions.com and icemanpolar.com
The CAA said it is currently collating information from the company and will update its website “as soon as possible”
It advised claimants that claim forms from other failures cannot be accepted.
