Scenic reports booking surge after TV appearance

Scenic Eclipse bookings to Antarctica reportedly doubled after the ship was featured on an episode of Cruising with Susan Calman.

The episode aired on February 9 and prompted a “surge in website traffic”, the line said, adding: “Enquiries resulting in bookings to the region more than doubled compared to the previous weekend”.

The line went on to say February 12 was its top performing day of 2024 so far, both in terms of overall bookings and bookings to Antarctica, “the majority of which were confirmed via trade partners”, it added.

In the episode, Scenic Eclipse sailed from Ushuaia to Antarctica via the Drake Passage. Calman took a helicopter ride, went on a wildlife discovery cruise to see a penguin colony and visited Deception Island.

The ship will feature on a second episode airing on February 16.
