The Silver Marketing Association will host an employment and recruitment webinar next week to help companies find older candidates who could fill job vacancies.
The free event comes after many agents, operators and others in travel and tourism have been struggling to recruit as the sector recovers from the pandemic downturn.
The 45-minute webinar starts at 10am on Tuesday (April 26), and will be hosted by Steve Huxham, a recruitment strategist and HR advisor.
Age discrimination has been against the law for 15 years in the UK but the webinar will explore some of the problems that candidates in the ‘silver’ market may face – as well as success stories.
There will be advice for businesses that serve or sell to the silver market to ensure that their own workplaces reflect their customers.
Huxham will be joined by Peter Stratton, travel veteran and founder of Simpson Recruitment – who is now entering his fifth decade in the workplace – and Mike Mansfield, an international thought-leader in longevity and retirement preparations.
Debbie Marshall, Silver Marketing Association managing director, said: “This is a must-attend event for anyone interested in hiring and retaining silver talent.
“With so much talk in the media about The Great Resignation, find out why the older workforce can bring experience, expertise and lifelong learning to your organisation.”
The Silver Marketing Association launched as a membership B2B organisation in January, with a mission to connect and inform businesses and individuals with an interest in marketing to older consumers.
