Silver Travel Advisor has appointed Gold Medal marketing chief Kerry Gallagher as its new marketing director.
Gallagher will join the company’s board alongside managing director Lisa McAuley and business development director Penny Worthy.
McAuley recently left her role as managing director of tour operations for Gold Medal parent dnata, following her acquisition of Silver Travel Advisor 12 months ago.
Gallagher has held various marketing positions at Gold Medal, most recently marketing director. She has been tasked with developing Silver Travel Advisor’s brand communication channels and “evolving its membership proposition”.
Last week, the company announced plans to expand to include a full-service travel agency, ahead of an overhaul of its website in the new year.
In a statement, it said Gallagher’s remit would “incorporate wider responsibilities to support the overall strategic vision and ambitious growth plans as the brand moves into a new phase”.
McAuley said: “I’m delighted to bring Kerry onboard at Silver Travel Advisor, her extensive experience in leading brand strategies and creating engaging marketing campaigns means she is well-placed to support me in taking the brand forward into a new era.”
Gallagher said: “It’s an exciting time for the Silver Travel Advisor brand. With an already highly-engaged audience and strong brand presence, there is a solid platform to build on, which combined with Lisa’s vision to grow and diversify presents an exciting challenge.
“I am looking forward to taking the next step in my career and being part of the Silver Travel Advisor journey.”
