The Personal Travel Agents adds three members to homeworkers board

The Personal Travel Agents (PTAs) – Midcounties Co-operative’s homeworking division – has added three members to its board.

Sally O’Hara (pictured left), Paul Wells and Elisha Treserden will each serve on the homeworkers board for two years, and will join three existing board members who are currently midway through their terms.

The board meets with the PTAs’ senior management team four times a year to discuss new ideas, share best practices and to sanction key decisions within the homeworking business.

Board members are voted for by their fellow homeworkers and represent the interests of more than 160 self-employed agents who run their businesses in partnership with Your Co-op.

For the first time, the board actively recruited a member who had been with the PTAs for less than 18 months, which it said will help it welcome “fresh insights and opinions”.

O’Hara, who joined the PTAs last year, said: “I’m really looking forward to my involvement with the homeworker board. It will be a great opportunity to put forward some ideas from a ‘newbie’ and I’m very proud to be the first newer PTA on the board.”

Wells, who has been a PTA member for nine years, said: “Having served on the homeworker board on a couple of occasions previously, I felt that now was the right time to reapply.

“Given the situation over the last couple of years, I felt my experience and propensity to drive change would serve the group’s members well as we strive to rebuild consumer confidence, promote business growth and capitalise on the importance of the role of a personal travel agent.”

Treserden, who has been a PTA member for eight years, said: “I was excited at the thought of representing my fellow agents, but being voted for is nerve-racking, so when I received enough votes and was elected I was thrilled and felt very humbled too. I cannot wait to start.”

Head of PTAs Sheena Whittle said: “We’re delighted to welcome Elisha, Paul and Sally to the homeworker board and know they will each make a difference in their own way.

“We highly value the work and input the board makes to business decision making. It’s more important than ever as we emerge from the pandemic to have our homeworkers firmly at the heart of everything we do.”
