The Travel Network Group makes MSC Cup ‘goal pledge’

The Travel Network Group has pledged to make a £250 donation for every goal its team scores at the MSC Cup 2024.

The seven-a-side football competition in aid of Reuben’s Retreat returns to Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge stadium today (Wednesday, May 22).

Ten teams from the travel industry will go toe to toe in the event, organised by MSC Cruises in partnership with Travel Weekly.

The Travel Network Group chief executive Gary Lewis said: “To show our support for the wonderful work done by the team at Reuben’s Retreat, we pledge to donate £250 for each goal that our team scores, so we will work even harder towards achieving a great result.”

Derbyshire-based Reuben’s Retreat provides a countryside setting that aims to relieve the distress of families who have a child suffering from a life-limiting or life-threatening illness or who have suffered a child bereavement. Services include counselling, support groups, activity and therapy days, short breaks for children and bereavement breaks.

When the MSC Cup was last held, in 2019, it raised more than £25,000 for its partner charity and The Travel Network Group team were crowned champions.

This year the group’s side will be made up of members from Bespoke Travel, Holidays4Golfers, My Kind of Cruise, Thames Travel, Tomorrow’s Travel Today and Triangle Travel.

Entry to the competition cost a minimum of £3,000.
