The number of candidates being placed in travel jobs reached a six-month high last month, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
February’s tally, which rose by 25% compared with the previous month, was the best total since August 2023.
C&M Travel Recruitment managing director Barbara Kolosinska (pictured) said February was “undoubtedly a positive month” for job placements, despite being 30% down on February last year.
Statistics for last month show the number of candidates was the second-highest February total in the past seven years, with the figure being 16% behind the “very busy month” of February 2023.
The number was also level with January 2024, despite February being a shorter month.
C&M Travel Recruitment described February’s statistics on job vacancies as “less impressive”, with the figure falling by 29% compared with January and by 33% compared with February last year.
Nevertheless, last month’s total was the third-highest in the past six months.
Kolosinska said the industry needs “consistent increases” in the number of new travel jobs being made available.
She added: “There remains lots of great new opportunities out there for the right candidates, but we’ll be watching closely to see how busy the market gets in the coming months.”
