Trips in Tibet have been reinstated by G Adventures for next year as it also expands itineraries in China and South Korea as demand in Asia continues to grow.
Value-for-money safaris in Africa and multi-country trips in Central America that were only previously available to travellers aged up to 39 have also been added.
‘Classic’ trip in Africa will feature G Adventures’ fully refurbished fleet of overland vehicles and new camping equipment including upgraded tents, chairs and mattresses.

Accommodation will remain “basic” in Central America, but the expanding of the age ranges means older travellers will be able to explore deeper, and have access to El Salvador and Honduras, countries previously only able to be visited on G Adventures’ ’18-To-Thirtysomethings’ trips.
Tibet returns to the operator’s programme for the first time since before the pandemic, as China relaxes visas for a number of countries.
“South Korea has also been trending up, so the time was right to introduce a new Classic tour that can also be combined with perennially popular Japan, which shows no signs of slowing down,” the company said.
Tibet tours start at £2,299 per person for a 12-day trip excluding flights from Chengdu to Kathmandu while safaris lead-in at £3,499 for 27 days from Johannesburg to Nairobi.
Product vice president Yves Marcaeu said the expansion of trips for all ages in Africa and Central America was the result of the operator identifying an increasingly older customer looking for more “basic, grass roots” adventure experiences at affordable prices.
He added: “When we looked at the data, we could clearly see the time is right to open up a set of fast-paced, longer, more basic itineraries to an older crowd looking to see and do as much as they can.
“These are longer trips that have been traditionally more popular with younger travellers who typically have less money and more time.
“We certainly have a segment of customers who are growing older, yet still looking for a more ‘rugged’ and exploratory style of adventure. These trips are perfect for them, and the prices can’t be beat.”
