Princess Cruises reports rise in all-inclusive bookings

Princess Cruises has reported an 18% increase in the number of all-inclusive packages booked by UK and Ireland passengers sailing this year over 2022.

Sailings in the Caribbean are the most popular for packages, with more than three-quarters of passengers opting for an add-on when departing in 2023.

A new study by the line also revealed a 25% rise in people going all-inclusive when choosing to sail around the British Isles this year, compared to 2022.

The total number of UK passengers opting for ‘all-in’ packages for 2024 currently matches 2023. The line is expecting this demand to grow across 2023 and into next year.

The UK has one of the highest all-inclusive uptake rates per passenger, compared to any other country.

Two all-inclusive packages are available. ‘Princess Plus’ includes select alcoholic drinks, unlimited juices and smoothies, two fitness classes, Wi-Fi and crew appreciation. ‘Princess Premier’ adds an enhanced drink selection, two speciality meals, a photo package, unlimited fitness classes and reserved theatre seating.

UK and Europe vice president Eithne Williamson said that passenger feedback showed they like to know the true cost of their holiday upfront, and that upgrading to an add-on offers the additional convenience of helping track onboard extras.

She added: “Cruise holidays offer incredible value for money, with fine dining, five-star entertainment and a host of activities included as standard.

“When guests choose to add on a Princess package, that value stretches even further, which is why we say ‘it pays to plus’.

“Our packages have recently been enhanced with inclusions now covering fitness classes, photo packages and even reserved theatre seating.

“We’re really pleased with the increase in guests taking advantage of the fantastic value they offer, and only expect it to grow.”

Meanwhile, summer 2024 Alaska cruises and land tours have gone on sale with seven ships being deployed from four home ports – San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Anchorage (Whittier).

President John Padgett said: “As the leading cruise line in Alaska, we deliver unforgettable holidays and we’re also the most recommended line by travel advisors to their trusted clients.

“We’re celebrating our 55th anniversary in 2024 cruising to this must-see destination, so whether it’s your first or fifth time visiting Alaska, we are ready to help guests make inspiring memories to last a lifetime.”
