Seabourn has joined multiple cruise brands in removing St Petersburg from its summer itineraries due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The luxury Carnival Corporation line said six itineraries by Seabourn Ovation that were originally scheduled to visit the city were being modified this year.
Replacement ports vary by voyage and will include stops in Scandinavia, western and northern Europe and the Norwegian fjords.
They include Gothenburg and Helsingborg in Sweden; Ulvik, Sandness (Stavanger), Farsund, and Aalborg in Norway; and Amsterdam.
“The new itineraries will allow guests the opportunity to visit a number of destinations rich in history, culture, world-class architecture and beautiful landscapes,” the company said.
“Booked guests and travel advisors on affected sailings will receive updates and specific details applicable to their booking.
“Seabourn’s highest priority is compliance, environmental protection and the health, safety and well-being of our guests, team members, shoreside employees and the people in the communities we touch.
“The company will continue to update impacted guests and travel advisors as more information is available.”
Seabourn follows sister brand Princess Cruises removing 24 St Petersburg calls.
Fellow lines P&O Cruises and Cunard have already amended itineraries to avoid St Petersburg together with the likes of Aida, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Viking Cruises.
