Seabourn re-routes spring 2025 sailing to avoid Red Sea

Ongoing concerns about the safety of shipping in the Red Sea due to attacks by Houhti rebels has led Seabourn to redeploy one of its vessels.

Seabourn Encore had been due to sail westbound from Asia to Europe next spring.

The ship will instead head eastbound from Singapore to Dubrovnik, travelling nearly 20,000 nautical miles across four continents and two oceans.

The change has been made to the original itinerary “to prioritise the safety of guests and to avoid the Red Sea”.

The revision gives sailings of between seven and 25 days and may be combined for longer journeys of up to 53 days

The modified itinerary includes a series of new voyages to Southeast Asia, Japan, Hawaii, the Panama Canal and the Mediterranean between March and May 2025.

The new deployment covers 36 destinations in 18 countries, including 18 maiden calls, the ship’s first transit through the Panama Canal and its debut in the US in Hawaii, California and Miami in March and April 2025.

The ship will set off from Singapore to Kobe on a 14-day cruise on March 2, 2025 before embarking on a 25-day Pacific crossing from Japan via Hawaii to California.

The Panama Canal transit from Long Beach to Miami takes 19 days from April 9, with the vessel then crossing the Atlantic on a 12-day voyage to Lisbon.

Seabourn Encore will sail from the Portuguese capital for eight days to Civitavecchia for Rome before setting off on its final seven-day leg to Dubrovnik on May 18, 2025.

A 10% discount is being offered on new bookings made by November 19 on the revised 2025 sailings.

Seabourn president Natalya Leahy said: “We are pleased to offer these new and exciting voyages on our beautiful Seabourn Encore to visit and explore a diverse range of destinations.

“We are proud to mark Seabourn’s maiden visits to two brand-new ports, giving guests the unique chance to experience two enchanting destinations in Japan with our signature ultra-luxury service.

“We hope guests will take advantage of our special offer and join Seabourn Encore as she sails to a number of destinations for the very first time.”
