Fred Olsen Cruise Lines to return to Australia

Fred Olsen Cruises Lines will return to Australia for the first time in more than three years as part of a world cruise.

The 2024 World Cruise on Borealis, lasting 101 nights, will visit destinations including Hawaii, French Polynesia, Australia, Bali and Oman.

Martin Lister, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ head of itinerary planning and destination experience, said the company is “absolutely thrilled” about returning to Australia for the first time since 2020.

He added: “Together with our trusted partners, we have planned some incredible once-in-a-lifetime experiences to enable guests to truly immerse themselves in the destination they are visiting.”

Prices start at £9,999 for the S2402 World Cruise departing from Southampton on January 7, 2024.

The itinerary includes time in the rainforests of Costa Rica, as well as a trip to Australia’s Uluru, a stint in rarely-visited Alotau in Papua New Guinea, and a chance to experience New Zealand’s vineyards.

Lister added: “The waters around Hawaii are said to be some of the best for whale watching and we have timed this cruise to coincide with humpback whales making their annual migratory trip from the summer feeding grounds of Alaska.”

Passengers can also book fly-cruise sections of the cruise, including Borealis’ 53-night S240104 Liverpool to Sydney sailing departing from Liverpool on January 5, 2024. Prices start at £8,399 per person, with the itinerary featuring the coastline of Florida, three volcanic Hawaiian islands and New Zealand’s Sounds.
