South Africa’s top tourist attraction, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, is set to attract 20m worldwide visitors this year. The site, which looks across to Table Mountain, has 260 speciality shops, 60 restaurants and four conference venues.

Cape Town has topped the world list of long-haul destinations for incentive travel for the first time, according to a Convention and Incentive Travel Agency survey. Cape Metropolitan Tourism chief executive Rick Taylor said conference organisers choose the city because it has something different to offer.
