Preferred availability product
Qualiflyer signs up to Galileo system
THE QUALIFLYER Group has signed up to use Galileo’s Preferred availability product, which is aimed specifically at airline alliances. The system allows travel agents using Galileo to view the details of Qualiflyer members’ flights at a glance.
They can access a combined choice of flights and connections offered by the members on a single screen by entering one alliance code rather than multiple airline codes.
A Galileo spokesman said: “It’s a way for agents who can’t make a booking with one airline alliance member to look what other members have available.
“If a traveller wants to use the Qualiflyer Group, agents can direct them more easily.”
The 11 members of Qualiflyer, which include Swissair, Sabena and TAP Air Portugal, all subscribe to the Galileo global distribution system already.
Meanwhile, the alliance is to introduce a new on-line loyalty reward programme for its corporate clients. Under the system, developed by e-commerce technology company Gradient Solutions, points are accumulated in a company account whenever one of its employees flies on a Qualiflyer airline. The company then redeems them in flights and hotel stays.
