Cunard and Seabourn introduce fluid pricing system for 2001
CUNARD Line and Seabourn Cruise Line have introduced a fluid pricing system to coincide with the launch of their 2001 brochures. The Book Early Savings Tariff strategy means customers can secure savings of up to 40% with Cunard and up to 30% with Seabourn on next year’s holidays.
There is no pre-set expiry date on the discounts but the savings will be gradually reduced as the ships fill up.
On top of the BEST saving, past passengers will be entitled to an additional 10% discount and customers who book their next cruise while on board ship will get an extra 15% off.
Regional director of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Stuart Perl, said the introduction of BEST was intended to drive early bookings anddiscourage people from waiting for late offers.
“It will guarantee people who book early a better fare and better accommodation,” he said. “It will be yield and capacity managed.”
Previously, Cunard and Seabourn have concentrated on offering discounts with expiry dates. Meanwhile, Cunard has launched its first ever combination voyages, which involve sailing across the Atlantic on QE2 and taking a round trip cruise out of New York on Caronia.
The cruises will operate between July and September and range in length from 19 to 30 nights.
The price of a 19-night trip starts at £2,511.
Cunard and Seabourn have now extended their offer of free chauffeur-driven transfers to UK airports or ports to all departures.
