n Easjyet reaches 10m passenger landmark


EasyJet has reached the milestone of 10m passengers. The figure comes four years after the airline was launched as one of the first UK-based budget carriers. This year around 6m customers will fly with EasyJet.


n united to sponsor international air show


United Airlines is sponsoring the Middle Wallop International Air Show. The event takes place on September 9-10. Attractions include commercial as well as military aircraft and aviation displays.


n london city strikes ayscough travel deal


London City Airport has teamed up with Ayscough Travel to develop an on-line booking system for flights. Accommodation is also available on the Web site. Car hire, shopping and currency will be on sale in the future. The address is www.londoncityairport.com.


n brymon airways opens new head office


Brymon Airways, the Westcountry-based British Airways subsidiary, has officially opened its new head office in Weston-Super-Mare. The headquarters house the airline’s management and 40 staff. Previously managers were based at Plymouth and Bristol airports.


n Ba drops gatwick to buenos aries service


British Airways is dropping its five-times weekly Gatwick-Buenos Aries-Santiago flight on August 1 due to mounting losses. From this date BA will continue to serve the Argentinian capital with the same frequency but Oneworld partner LanChile will operate the Santiago sector under a BA flight code. Meanwhile BA has cut 20% off European leisure fares as competition for budget prices hots up for the summer.
