Top services help improve dive facilities

AS new and upmarket hotels come on stream the quality of diving services in the Red Sea region is also improving.

In Sharm el Sheikh, the Hyatt Regency opened with an on-site dive centre on a private beach in January and the Ritz-Carlton has its own dive centre at the resort, as does the recently opened five-star Mövenpick Golf Hotel and Resort.

Dive operator Discover Red Sea features the five-star Hyatt Regency hotel in Sharm.

Product manager Phillip Breckner said the service is geared towards a more pampered client and is more along the lines of services found in the Caribbean.

“The Red Sea originally targeted the cheaper end of the market, with dive centres located outside of hotels,” said Breckner.

“Hyatt Regency was among the first to offer these high standards of service on site.”

A pre-breakfast snorkel or pre-dinner night dive is every bit an option for divers and snorkellers staying at the five-star Mövenpick hotel, which has its own house reef.
