&#42 norwegian fjord line to offer on-line facility

NorwegianFjord Line is set to offer a booking and reservation facility on the Web. The service, named CarRes, will handle the bookings of about 400,000 passengers a year across its network. CarRes will be the cruise and ferry industry’s only Web-enabled booking system for travel agents.

&#42 festival launches spanish cruise line

A new Madrid-based cruise company set up by Festival Cruises is to be marketed in the UK. It has joined forces with Spain’s premier maritime group, Transmediterranea, and its leading operator, Iberojet, to launch Spanish Cruise Line and will begin operations next summer.

&#42 Princess cruises takes greener stance

P&O’s Princess Cruises claims to be the first cruiseline to introduce hydro-electric power in a bid to protect the environment. It will use the alternative power to run all on-board services when it docks in the Alaskan capital of Juneau next summer.
