BUDGET UK is promoting two new car-rental programmes and its on-line reservations service at Business Travel 2000 next month.
One of the programmes is the Fastbreak Counter, already available at more than 90 US airports, which offers paperless car-rental service to business travellers. Customers check reservation status on a monitor, present their driver’s licence at a dedicated Fastbreak Counter and pick up their keys. The second programme is being kept under wraps and won’t be revealed until the event, which takes place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London from February 8-10.
The new Web site, www.budget.com, offers international business and leisure reservations in more than 120 countries.
Budget’s director of corporate sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa John Lawrence will be one of the panellists at a seminar on the opening day of the event. The seminar is titled ‘Global deals – a reality at last?’
n Budget has signed up to the Worldspan Car Source computer reservation system. Travel agents can now access real-time rates and availability data as displayed in Budget’s own reservation system, allowing them to find rates, discounts and packages.
