Winter market sales increase
WINTER business has recovered from a disastrous millennium with sales picking up on a weekly basis, JMC has claimed.
Speaking at the launch of its new Forever Young and Goa winter 2001/02 brochures, product director Alan MacLean said the market was showing a vast improvement on last year.
Sales last week were 20% ahead of bookings during the same period last year with most selling at brochure price, said MacLean.
“Load factors are well ahead with long haul doing well,” he said. “We were concerned that poor sales last year may have been a general trend but that does not appear to be the case.”
He said holidays this winter are between £150 and £300 cheaper than 1999/2000.
