Curacao
Top representatives seek trade’s backing
ARUBA’S sister island, Curacao, is fielding a top line-up of delegates, led by commissioner Ramon Chong and member of parliament and former commissioner of tourism Cedric Eisden.
From the Curacao Tourism Development Bureau executive director, Pieter Sampson and European marketing manager, Brenda Benjamin head a team of nine. Representatives from more than six hotels will also be out in force with news of a range of new properties, refurbishments and expansions.
These include the opening of two new hotels, the Radisson Resort Curacao, a 323-room all-inclusive property that was formerly the Princess Beach Resort, and the Sunset Waters Beach Resort, another all-inclusive that offers 95 rooms and has plans for a future water sports complex with dive shop.
The Sheraton Curacao Resort has completed a refurbishment programme and is now targeting the business and incentive sector, as well as holidaymakers.
The hotel’s expanded meeting facilities can accommodate up to 450 people and also offer the services of a dedicated, on-site meeting co-ordinator.
The hotel is conveniently located across the road from Curacao’s World Trade Centre.
Representatives from the Curacao Marriott, formerly the Sonesta, including European sales manager, Albert Romijin, will also have news of the hotel’s new children’s programme, Coconut Kids.
