Irish Ferries eyes group bookings
IRISH Ferries is looking to encourage group bookings in its 2001 brochure and is also promoting its facility for passengers to pre-book meals before boarding.
Irish Ferries predicts that its share of the group travel market will increase next year with the spring introduction of its luxury ferry, the Ulysses. The ship will be able to carry 2,000 passengers and 22 coaches.
To boost group bookings, it has also introduced a promotional fare of £18 per person for a standard return to Dublin. Other group savings include free travel and meal for coach drivers, one free place for every 20 passengers booked and two children, under 16 years old, can travel for the price of one adult.
Groups travelling to Ireland for a short break can still use the Dublin Swift, with a travelling time of one hour and 49 minutes compared to just over three hours on the Ulysses.
Irish Ferries’ Dublin Swift vessel is not equipped to take coaches, but can carry 800 passengers and 200 cars. The pre-booked meals service has been introduced to make life easier for passengers. They can book from a selection of recipes and just collect their meal once on board.
