JMC fined for breaching ABTA code of conduct
JMChas been fined £3,500 for breaching several clauses in the ABTA code of conduct.
It was fined £500 for over-booking, relating to travel arrangements being cancelled or altered.
It was also fined £1,000 for breaching building works rules. The ABTAcode states that an operator should be reasonably aware of building works that may impair holiday enjoyment.
JMC was fined the remaining £2,000 for four breaches of ABTA’s arbitration clause. The clause states that if a member of the public has not succeeded in resolving a problem with its ABTA member, after at least two attempts, they can ask for their case to be placed in front of an independent organisation which will make a legal decision.
