COSMOS has launched a brochure offering cut-price summer 2000 holidays in a bid to bring forward the traditional lates market.
It is the first time the operator has issued a discounted summer brochure and follows a similar venture used for winter 1999/2000.
Commercial director Stuart Jackson said the winter Pricebeaters brochure attracted around 10% of usual late bookings at higher margins.
“We believe that certain sectors of the market enjoy taking the price advantage,” he said. “This product meets that demand as it encourages the traditional late booker to make the holiday decision earlier.
“Prices are not as low as perhaps some late offers but the choice of accommodation is much greater.”
Pricebeaters features 120 properties in 25 short-haul and long-haul destinations with two concepts available – Cosmos Selection and Cosmos Choice.
In Selection, customers are guaranteed to be allocated one of a group of properties featured in the brochure. Choice customers can select the destination and board but the property will be allocated in resort.
Prices lead in at £109 for seven nights’ self-catering in Corfu.
