Carnival makes move into short-cruise market
CARNIVALCruise Lines is launching into the short-cruise market for the first time with a series of two and three-day sailings from Port Canaveral in Florida on its ship Tropicale.
The cruises start in February and include calls at Nassau and Freeport. UK sales and marketing manager Wendy Kavanagh said the short cruises are ideal for first-time cruisers and would fit neatly into a wider Florida itinerary.
Carnival’s other ship, Fantasy, already sails from Port Canaveral but this will be a new base for Tropicale.
The two-day cruises will depart on Thursdays and Saturdays and the three-day cruises will depart on Mondays, returning to the port on Thursday.
The two-day cruises start at £89 for an inside cabin and £119 for an outside cabin.
