* flight suspension
British Regional Airlines has suspended all daily Stansted-Waterford flights for the next month due to the closure of Waterford airport after it was struck by lightening. The service will resume on December 17.
* abta sets 2001 date

* virgin express post
Former Virgin Express managing director John Osborne has been in talks for a job with low-cost airline Ryanair. Osborne will be replaced by Virgin Express director of flight operations Neil Burrows. The changes come as Virgin Express posted pre-tax losses of £4.4 million in the third quarter to September 30.
* ATM Travel purchase
ATMTravel, the Saltcoats-based travel agency, has bought Premier Travel at Boswell Park in Ayr. Former owner of Premier Travel Susan Keenan will continue to work with the company on a part-time basis.
* jetsave pay-out
Jetsave is to pay £282,000 compensation to a customer in an out-of-court settlement. SimonNorth suffered serious injuries after falling through a safety balcony in Florida in 1996. Jetsave has not accepted liability.

Former Airtours subsidiary Flightdeck group manager Dave Simmonds has launched a venture offering services to the industry, such as a database of discounted air fares and ticket distribution. It has financial backing fromUrbanweb managing director Steve Endacott.
